The Executive Who Became a Coach.

Before I became a coach, I was for a long time exactly what I now help others navigate: an employee, a manager, and a person within the system.

Before founding Lanz Consulting, I worked at Roche Diagnostics for ten years—in various technical and leadership roles, where I was responsible for international projects and led cross-location teams in Switzerland, Germany, and Spain.

I know the challenges of leadership from my own experience: shaping change, reconciling differing interests, making decisions amid uncertainty, and rallying people around shared goals. Today, I support companies, nonprofit organizations, and leadership teams with precisely these issues.

My Journey in Six Stages

International leadership experience meets systemic organizational development

2003–2009
UBS AG

Six years of retail banking

While advising Swiss and British private clients, I helped people navigate important life and financial decisions. I quickly realized that behind every technical question there are always personal motivations, hopes, and uncertainties.

“Here I learned that good advice starts with listening, not with giving answers.”
2010–2011
Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting

Between Excellence, Science, and Global Networks

As an event manager, working with Nobel laureates, scientists, and sponsors from around the world has helped me develop a keen sense of different perspectives. The best results often emerge at the intersections—where different disciplines come together.

“Brilliance alone does not transform spaces. It is people who inspire others to think.”
2012–2015
Roche Diagnostics International

Human Resources Development within the Group

At Roche, I was responsible for the development of employees and leaders—from designing strategic development programs to facilitating change and learning processes. This experience now forms an important foundation for my work as a coach and organizational developer.

“Most problems in a company are not technical problems.”
2015–2021
Roche Diagnostics International

Management responsibilities – international

25 employees. Three locations in Germany, Spain, and Switzerland. In German and English.

I’ve built teams from “individual contributors,” guided them through restructuring, and helped people grow into roles that are now more significant than the one I held back then.

“Leadership means providing direction when the answers aren’t yet clear.”
Summer 2021
Alpe-Adria Trail

400 kilometers—and a decision

From the Grossglockner to the sea. When you walk, you think differently. When I saw the Adriatic Sea after weeks away, I had long since made the decision to go into business for myself. I just had to let myself do it.

“A backpack forces you to strip things down to the essentials. That creates mental clarity.”
2022–present
Lanz Consulting

Self-employed. Working for yourself. With integrity.

Why does change succeed in some teams—but not in others? This question led me to systemic organizational development. Today, I support leaders, teams, and organizations—using everything I’ve learned from the first five chapters. Not despite the fact that I know both sides, but precisely because of it.

“I don’t give advice based on a textbook. I give advice based on 20 years of firsthand experience.”
My Brand Promise

“We turn words into action.”

I share my thoughts and laughs with these women—and sometimes I swear with them, too.

Without Michèle, I might be half as organized and twice as stressed. She takes the pressure off me—so I can do what I do best.
